Importing Subscription Data
There are two types of data that need to be imported in order to setup subscriptions that will work.
First: the Customer Information
Second: the Subscription Information
It is important to relate the subscription information to the customer. Often the imports are done separately, but every situation is different, and must be analyzed before proceeding.
Customer Information
Customer information is the name and address where the publication will be delivered. It must also contain any contact information such as phone number and email address. But most important, there must be a customer ID number that will link the customer to the subscription.
And if the person paying is different than the recipient, we need to have the customer information for the person paying.
Subscription Information
With an ID number to link to the customer information it is important to gather the number of issues remaining in the current subscription (if this is in date form, then we need to convert it to number of issues); and of course the date the subscription expires, the price per issue (the total price divided by the number of issues originally purchased); the next issue the customer will receive.
Is the subscription a gift, is it complimentary. Some magazines have promo copies they give away to public locations like libraries. Schools or doctor’s offices. Often these promo copies do not have a charge.
Analyzing and Importing
We provide a service to import all your current subscription information into Subscribers Fool. Typically this charge starts at $600 and goes up depending on the time involved and the complexity of the records being imported. Please contact us to review how this can best be accomplished. Almost every publication is a bit different from others. If you prefer to do it yourself, we are happy to give you guidance.
