Can I access my copy of Subscribers Fool™ from home?

As long as you have broadband internet access at the office, you can connect to your copy of Subscribers Fool™ from anywhere in the world where web access is available. Many people connect to Subscribers Fool™ from home.

Do I have to have two copies of Subscribers Fool™ in order to connect?

Yes, one copy at the office, and one copy on your laptop. Actually, you’ll have Subscribers Fool™ on one machine, and FileMaker on each machine.

Do I have to have a fixed IP address in order for Subscribers Fool™ to be available from remote sites?

No, but it is much easier. If you do not have a fixed IP at the office, you’ll have to check your current address each time you want to connect.

What Port does FileMaker come in on?

How do I set-up port forwarding on my router?

Basically, you will point port 5003 to the local IP of your office machine that is running Subscribers Fool™. If this is unfamiliar to you, you can hire a network person to set it up for you. Or, most young people who play remote video games can easily help you.

Do I need to leave Subscribers Fool™ open on my office computer in order to have access from home?

Yes
